The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires all public bodies in the UK to provide a general right of access to certain information they hold. Public access to information became effective on January 1st 2005. Any person who makes a request to a public authority for information must be informed whether the public authority holds that information and, subject to exemptions, supplied with that information. Road Safety Partnerships are subject to the Act since they are constituted of public bodies.
We are committed to being an open and transparent Merseyside Road Safety Partnership; and will proactively seek to provide relevant information to members of the public. Our website contains all the information that we feel the public has an interest in viewing.
If you would like access to information which you cannot find on our website you may put forward a request to our Project Manager. In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act your request must be in writing (this includes a written/typed letter or via e-mail) and you must also provide your name and an address for correspondence (this should be a physical address). Please note that we cannot accept requests for information over the telephone.
Please note that certain information is exempt from disclosure, where this occurs you will be fully informed of which exemption has been applied and why. Sometimes a request may exceed the cost of the complying limit set by the regulations. The regulations are that the Merseyside Road Safety Partnership is obliged to provide information requested up to a limit in terms of cost of £400. If the information that you have requested exceeds this limit you will be informed directly and advised to reduce your request.
