Having been in operation for three years the Merseyside Road Safety Partnership is continually working towards reducing the number of people killed and seriously injured on the regions roads.

Deaths on the road are treated by many as accidental, something that just happens, they aren’t, they’re preventable tragedies with real causes. Together with our Partners, we aim to provide engineering, enforcement and educatation so that everyone can stay as safe as possible on the roads.

• A 40% reduction in the number of people killed or seriously injured by 2010
• A 50% reduction in the number of children killed or seriously injured by 2010
• A 10% reduction in the slight casualty rate (expressed as the number of people slightly injured per 100 million vehicle kilometers) by 2010
